  • Hi All:
I have my XBOX connected to a linksys wrt54g that is running dd-wrt and it is set up as a bridge and it connects wireless two another linksys running dd-wrt and I can connect to the Internet through XBMC no problem. I'm have set up my shares in win XP. I cant connect to the PC through XBMC I get an error message (cant connect to network) but the Internet works. The main router is 192.168.1 the bridge is 192.168.1.129 and the xbox is 192.168.1.144. Network gurus what do I have configured wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help,

    Fiat

  • Well, this should work. I have a similar setup but I'm using Cisco 1200's. What's the IP of your WinXP box? Try setting up a share to it by IP address, ie something like smb://192.168.1.1/sharename. See if it connects that way. If it does, check your dd-wrt configuration. It sounds like it may be stopping broadcasts from being exchanged over the bridged link. (Windows Networking uses broadcasts to find the master browser who tells you the list of services, and to then resolve a netbios name to an IP address.)
