The Out-Of-Control MR DCA-MIA-JFK-NRT-HKG-NRT-ORD-MCI

  • Well, what started as a simple MR to nail shut EXP for next year and spend a few hours in Tokyo has turned into a major trip involving getting a dear friend from SMF to ORD via SJC and connecting on to NRT where we will meet up when I arrive in from JFK then I have cashed in some miles to take us on Cathay on to HKG where we have 3 nights at the Grand Hyatt then back to NRT then on to ORD where we will split ways and I head home to MCI while friend heads back to Sacramento via SJC and her car.

    The trip report for this journey promises to be as complicated as the above sentence imitating a paragraph.

    So for $777.00 and a few hotel/airline points, I will finally get to ride upstairs on a 747-400 from NRT-HKG....worth it all. Plus, my friend assures me we will begin and finish all Christmas shopping at the markets in Hong Kong.

    So, look for my trip report starting 11/17 with a trip from MCI to Portland, ME on to DCA then the fun starts with DCA-MIA-JFK-NRT-HGK-NRT-ORD-MCI...

    I'm as giddy as a little kid and can't believe that 2 weeks from tonight, I'll be in Hong Kong.

    Love to travel, and it shows!


  • Wow, that's a whole lot of flying. How many miles does that amount to?


  • I will actually earn about 35,000 with EXP and other bonuses. It is over 20,000 actual miles for the entire trip out to Hong Kong and back if you count the award travel!
