BRG Wyndham ORD

  • Deluxe, 1 Queen bed

    Best Avail. rate on Wyndham.com - $129

    Orbitz.com - $128.75

May 3-4, maybe for other dates as well.

  • So for 25 cents difference they will give you the room for free?

I just tried for 22 April also with only a 25 cents difference.

  • hi there!

On the Wyndham website T&C it does say

    1) "The term Comparable Rate shall mean the total room cost for the same hotel and same number of accommodations, for the same room type and bed type. "

    2) "For a one-night stay, the WWW Guarantee will compare the total room cost as booked at the Wyndham.com WEBRATES with the total room cost of the lower comparable rate with its applicable booking rules. "

Does "total room cost" not include taxes?

  • Yup. AFAIK, a $0.01 difference does the trick. The T&C of the BRG doesn't say how much cheaper it has to be.

  • I put in a claim. I havent heard back yet. I will report when I do. Thanx op

  • My claim got denied. They said that I didn't book a "webrate" on wyndham.com so it does not qualify. I went back and looked. Even though the cancelable rate on wyndham.com is more than on orbitz.com, for my date (Apr 22), the webrate on wyndham.com is lower than the prepaid, non-refundable rate on orbitz.com. Oh well. The Westin it is for me.

But thanks for posting about it.

  • So if you are comparing a cancellable rate to a cancellable rate you should be OK. That is what I am doing.

That's how I had it figured - and it worked. ^

  • Hi guys!

Are room taxes taken into account?

Because the 25 cent difference is made up by the $6 booking fee that most online travel sites charge (expedia, travelocity, and such).

  • Oh, just for the record, my claim worked with no hassle. That despite there being a pre-paid rate on Wyndham.com for $116. Didn't know you could do that, or maybe I just got lucky.

  • Yup. AFAIK, a $0.01 difference does the trick. The T&C of the BRG doesn't say how much cheaper it has to be.

Thanks. I just booked one for 22 April - $199 vs. $198.75. I have another hotel already booked at a great rate (Westin at $59) but free beats $59. Plus, being a Wyndham by Request member there are some other nice benefits.

Thanks. I will keep you posted.

Re: the rates that qualify, their BRG states:

    # The term Comparable Rate shall mean the total room cost for the same hotel and same number of accommodations, for the same room type and bed type.

    # The WWW Guarantee applies to a lower Comparable Rate with booking rules that are similar to the booking rules of the Wyndham.com WEBRATES booked on a Wyndham-branded Web site. Booking rules include but are not limited to advance purchase requirements, prepayment and deposit requirements and cancellation and change policies. If Wyndham does not have a published Internet rate available that is similar with respect to the applicable booking rules, Wyndham, in its sole discretion, will honor the lower Internet rate with its applicable booking rules.

So if you are comparing a cancellable rate to a cancellable rate you should be OK. That is what I am doing.

The BRG is based on the lowest available room rate before taxes. Booking fees by online sites would not come into play since they vary from agency to agency. The rules are pretty clear on the wyndham.com site - click through their BRG Terms and Conditions.
