Network Delay When Streaming Media?

    is their a delay when streaming videos on a network, i use to stream media from my server to my xbox and their was a time delay before the media was started, im not using the latest xbmc, is the new xbmc version sort this problem out or does it still have a time delay?, i have the videos stored on my server and tell xbmc to go to 192.168.1.9 and the files are stored in a normal folder, am i doing it the correct way or is their a windows xp based program that does it properly?

  • are you using alot of your computer's resources while trying to stream?


  • at the time i wasnt no, i assumed it was normal for the delay but wasnt sure, is it normal? delay for 5 to 10 seconds before start (give or take)


  • depends on the cachesize you have set/network connection/serverspeed...
