Survey; Who has purchased the AC seat sale business class fares?

  • I would like to know if anyone has purchased the summer discount business class seat sale tickets (at 50% off full fare prices).

I wonder what made you purchase that, rather than an appropriate economy class seat, with or without an upgrade?

Have any of you had to purchase a full-fare domestic business class ticket, rather than this special half-price business class ticket (ie you were precluded from buying the latter ticket because of the restrictions with this ticket)?

  • Hold it...I bought a suit and casual pants at Holts the other day...and I wouldn't buy one of these tix!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

  • IMO, Holt Renfrew isn't all it's cracked up to be. I've walked in a few times and was unimpressed.

You're better off going on a shopping spree in the new Eaton's. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

  • Not sure this fare is of much interest to those of us with Elite or SE status, since we can book a V-class fare within the same 7-day window for half the price of the C-class fare, and use upgrades for the front cabin. And for most business travellers, the Saturday night stay remains a problem. Last minute trips can and do still happen, and this fare is of little use for these. I see this fare as an incentive to the more affluent non-FFer, who might fly his wife and family in J, but most certainly will do so for a vacation or weekend trip. This is a discount for the Holt Renfrew crowd.

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif I bought a pair of jeans at Holt a few weeks ago for a price I'd be embarrassed to mention. Worst part is I can't tell them apart from my GAP jeans.

I have no use for those C class fares. My domestic leisure travel tends to be last minute, so these don't work for me. If AC would allow me to buy last minute, weekend biz seats (distressed inventory) at a discount, I'd be interested. A YYZ-YVR fare in the $1000-$1500 range would work for me.

  • No for three reasons

    1) Policy: Even if the ticket is discounted I can't buy them for work purposes

    2) Upgrades: As mentioned, I got them so I use them

    3) No J:Until they put a J class on the BEH(where most of my flying is these days) it doesn't work for me. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
